Your Child's First Visit

We know the dentist can be a nerve-wracking experience for both parents and children.

Our friendly dentists and hygienists strive to make your, and your child’s visit to Marine Way Dental Centre as comfortable as possible.

Upon your first visit to the dentist with your child, we will walk you through what to expect on your visit and will introduce your child to their new dentist.

Once you and your child have met your new dentist, we will teach you and your child how to properly brush their teeth.

We strive to make their first visit both educational and fun to help make future visits not as difficult of an experience.

What We Will Teach Your Child on Their First Visit:

• How to brush their teeth
• How to floss their teeth
• How often they should brush and floss
• That oral health can be fun!

At What Age Should You First Bring Your Child to the Dentist?

At Marine Way Dental Centre, our dentists recommend that you bring your child in for their first visit around the age of 3 years old if not before.

The earlier you familiarize your child with the dentist, the easier it will be to ease visits or good oral health habits in the future.

After Your Child's First Visit

After your child’s first visit, we will send you home with a goodie bag that includes some things your child may need for optimal at-home oral health.

Going forward, we will recommend that you bring your child in for a dental check-up and hygiene appointment at least twice a year to help promote optimal oral health and to help prevent cavities.

We want to help set your child up for a future of good oral health and good oral health habits.

After your child’s first visit, we continue to offer a variety of dental services for children to keep their mouths and smiles healthy and to ensure their optimal oral health now and in the future.
