What are Inlays & Onlays?
At Marine Way Dental Centre, inlays & onlays, sometimes called indirect fills or partial crowns, are used to help repair damaged and moderately damaged teeth, and teeth affected by tooth decay.
Inlays and onlays are used as an alternative to help restore teeth that are too damaged to be repaired by regular dental fillings, but not damaged enough to require a complete crown.
How Does the Procedure Work?
Dental inlays and onlays help save the healthy part of an injured tooth and can provide strength and stability to the structure of your tooth.
To begin the procedure, a dental inlay is placed in the centre of the tooth being treated. A dental onlay is then placed in the insight and outside areas, or points of the tooth.
