Dr. Kumar will go the extra mile to make her patients feel comfortable.
Dr. Kumar wakes up every morning excited to go to work. From a very early age, the fundamental values of helping others in need were instilled in her. It only takes one visit to see her energy and passion for dentistry!
She was born in Iran, in a family of physicians, who traveled the world to help people in need. This included living in England, India and US. She finally settled in Montreal, Canada in 2010. She recently moved from the east coast and made Vancouver her home!
Dr. Kumar holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Biochemistry; Master's in Public Health and a combined Management degree from University of California, Los Angeles. Both her older siblings are also dentists and this further motivated her to pursue her Doctor of Dental Medicine at McGill (2016). Later, to provide more comprehensive care to her patients, she went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at New York College of Dentistry in Manhattan.
Following this residency program, she traveled to suburban communities in Ontario, in order to provide much needed dental services to families, focusing on children and elderly patients. She then worked in the Canadian Armed Forces at NDHQ Ottawa, where she provided CAF members dental treatments to make them fit for deployment.
Dr. Kumar has a passion for Global Dental Outreach, having worked within Canada and abroad. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry including family dentistry, pediatric dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. She strives to stay current on the latest techniques and products by attending various dental conferences, dental courses and study clubs.
Dr. Kumar prides herself on offering kind, gentle, attentive care that meets individual patient needs. She believes that patient's trust, comfort and happiness is the highest accomplishment a health care practitioner can be honored with. With her bubbly and friendly attitude, Dr. Kumar seeks to help patients feel comfortable and alleviate their fears of the dentist.
She emphasizes clear communication and speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and conversational Persian. No matter what day or time it is, there is always a radiant smile on her face!
On a personal note, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her friends. When not practising dentistry, she goes on silent meditation retreats and loves to be an instructor for Bollywood Zumba. She also loves to cook, and did we mention she laughs a lot!
